Living Keys Founder Receives Volunteer Award
Linda was left speechless after winning the Volunteer Award
Living Keys Founder and CEO Linda Huskisson has received the Volunteer Award at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire’s Making a Difference Awards. Linda was really shocked to receive this award, which was awarded by Lord Lieutenant Julie Spence.
Linda never expected the award as there were so many wonderful people making a difference in their communities.
Just for a change, Linda was speechless (which never happens). Linda would like to thank everyone who had voted and feels very appreciated for the work that Living Keys carries out for women.
Linda is now being nominated for a Kings Award for the work that she does and the rest of the wonderful volunteers that make a difference in the lives of those who have been through abuse.
Since starting the charity in 2021, we have seen over 436 ladies come through our doors for support. Although we love the work we do and actually seeing women increase in confidence and self-esteem, the percentage of domestic abuse is still rising. During the Euro cup football, the percentage went up by 38% in those few weeks.
There is still a lot to do to bring awareness and we will continue to empower those who have been through abuse, through our courses, our workshops and our drop in service.
